Differentiated Instructional Techniques and How to Engage Students and Provide Educational Opportunities: First of all, I feel like you need to be consistent with the way that you approach each student. Students need to have someone who is going to be consistent with them and provide them with the direction and positive reinforcement that they deserve. So a good way to give them the proper direction that the students deserve is to differentiate my instruction to their proper skill sets. As a teacher you have to come up with activities that are both relevant and rigorous enough to grab the students' attention and keep them engaged. So that is why I think the Flipped Classroom approach is a great way to engage students both at school and at home, not only to provide them with great study habits, but also give them options. You give the students options through the use of Educational Technology (the Masters Degree I am currently pursuing and have a wealth of knowledge of). The next way you can address these issues is giving the students PBL opportunities. Problem and Project-Based Learning is not only a great way to provide team building (which companies are looking for with new candidates) but also it provides students with critical-thinking skills in order to solve complex problems that I plan out for them during units of instruction. So I would say the way to deliver content in order to address these issues is through a Flipped Classroom and how you deliver the content is through PBL and Project-Based Learning initiatives. As an educator I believe it is essential to not only learn the tools necessary to create an interactive and tech-driven classroom environment, but to have the know-how to do it. I believe that through my experience, I create many significant opportunities to make the classroom more fun and engaging for my pupils, as well as provide real world situations the students will find challenging. It is my goal to raise expectations among my students. That is why as a teacher, it gives me a real chance to prepare my students with the 21st century skills necessary to succeed in the workforce.
